A Dining Experience

It is with some sadness, a bit of joy, and many, many sighs of relief, that we are announcing the closing of Suecat’s Bistro. There are a number of contributing factors in this decision.

As it is with many businesses, finding and maintaining your labor force has become more and more difficult. We have been running ads for servers for six weeks. We have not received a single response! We have nine shifts per week (3 Lunches, 2 Brunches, 4 Dinners). As we prepared to open this week, we had only three of those shifts covered.

Our kitchen staff has performed wonderfully. Our delicious and beautifully presented dishes have, consistently, garnered many 5 Star reviews.

That said, you can only charge so much. Our food and beverage costs have continued to rise at an alarming rate over the last year. The price of electricity, propane for cooking, cable and internet, insurance, chemicals required for operating the dishwashing system ($3500 every six weeks!), point of sale system, payroll service, and rent are all expensive!!! Turning a profit is just not within reach while maintaining the quality that our customers expect.

The resulting relentless cloud of unbelievable stress is affecting our health!! This stress is the proverbial “straw that broke the camel’s back and, ultimately, made this decision for us.

We thank everyone who supported Suecat’s through this two year journey.

We gave it our best shot!!
